Juicy, Juicy

The weekend is almost here and it's time to play! If you haven't played along in our TCP Tuesday Color Challenge, you really should.

October is just around the bend, and it's time to stamp up some Halloween cards. Plum purple, pear green and smokey grey are the perfect combo for that.

Check out Susan's card she uses the colors, but goes a shade lighter. And I do say, these colors make for the cutest little witch. At least Susan makes her so.

Then Nancy pulls out a Beary Good Year for her sweet card. That is one versatile set, and one super cute card.

Not in the mood to do Halloween? Well, how about Fall? These colors are soooo juicy, they are perfect for a Fall card, too! Think grapes bursting in their skins and juicy plums!

YUMM!

TCP Tuesday 178 & the Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Jenny is the Hostess with the Mostess for this week's TCP Tuesday Color Challenge.

She wants you to make something using Plum Purple, Pear Green and Smokey Grey. All really juicy colors, don't you think? Pretty challenging, too. But, the Cat Pack came through with flying colors.

Lori is thinking of Halloween with these colors. And I don't blame her. Even though Orange and Black are traditional Halloween colors, purple, and green are quickly becoming a fun alternative. LOVE that.

Jackie said that these colors frightened her, but you wouldn't know it from her wonderful card. So PRETTY!

Jen puts a spell on me with her delightful card! I love her mix of patterns and textures. She's magic.

Did you get a chance to play in last week's Supply challenge? Julie, challenged you to make a Seam Binding Rose. The first time you make them, they are a little hard, but they get easier each time you make one.

And they are all occasion, too! Take a look at how Jen uses her rose. Just love it on her Halloween goodie bag.

A Rose is a Rose

Did you get a chance to look at the video from Tuesday's Post? It's really easy to make roses with seam binding and a little adhesive.

And those roses can go anywhere. Take a look at Lori's card. I love how she incorporated it on her card.

Then look at Leigh's elegant card. She made a whole bunch of mini roses and nestled them under the Rolled Nest. CLEVER Girls.

TCP Tuesday 177 & the Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Julie is the Hostess with the Mostess for this week's TCP Tuesday Supply/Technique Challenge.

And Julie is asking you to make a seam binding rose and put it on your card or project. Don't know how to make a seam binding rose? Check out this handy video.

I show it in this video using ScrapHappy Glue, but you can use foam dots, sticky tape or glubers for the center. So don't let not having the specific supplies I use in the video stop you.

Take a gander at Amy's card. She uses a foam booster for the center of her rose. She combines this week's challenge and last week's challenge.

Then hop on over to Nancy's blog and see what she created. She may not think her rose came out, but I think it looks really great.

Did you get a chance to play in last week's Inspiration challenge? It really was a wonderful Inspiration, full of the colors of the season.

Last Day to WIN

It's the very last day to WIN some of our CUTUPS Dies! If you've been swinging by the Cat Pack in the last week, they've been posting their cards for the Inspiration Challenge by Jen and they're cards have featured some of our CutUps Dies. And YES you can win them! Just find their post that uses the dies in the TCP Tuesday 176 Challenge and comment in that post. They'll be announcing the winners at 3 pm PST on their blogs. 'Cept for Susan and Jackie. They want to give you a little EXTRA time to win.

Now here's two more chances to get in there and win. Jackie's card is perfect for how I feel today. I think I'm catching a little head cold. So soup is what I'm craving.

And, Susan's card is just so pretty. I love cards like this. They really are great all around cards, that can be used for anything. Hers says "I miss you" but, it really can say anything.

I thought I'd post up this card by Jody Morrow. Love her use of the Clouds CutUps Die and the Take Off Bunny.

If you read my blog post the other day, you know that I was on the road and was all set to blog and post and stuff, but my computer's power cord decided it wasn't going to work. Then, my phone charger went kaput, too. Both of these items went through the x-ray machine at the airport. I wonder if that had anything to do with it, since this is not the first time that chargers and such have given out on me once they have gone through the machine. I've also lost quite a lot of electric toothbrushes this way.

Anyone else have their electricals lose their effectiveness when they go through the x rays?

Ready to win more dies?

Sorry so late posting the Cat Packers who played in the Inspiration Challenge today, but I'm away from home and my laptop doesn't want to recharge itself. Doesn't it know there are dies to give away? Sheesh! Luckily, Carole is letting my use her laptop to post up.

Julie posted up a lovely card yesterday on her blog. LOVE that she used our Cloud Border CutUps die and stitched through it. SO Clever!

And I like Jenny's card a latte! Boy, oh boy, that gal colors hair well.

These gals did a bang up job with these cards. Leave a comment in their blog posts and you could win one of the CutUps dies that they used in their card.

Keep checking the blog postings on the left of the Cat Pack to see who was inspired by the TCP Tuesday Challenge. Then post a comment in their blog post to be eligible to win a CutUps Die.

Dying for some Dies?

Did you want so FREE Dies? I thought so.

Check out how this Inspiration Collage inspired Cat Packer, Lori and our newest Cat Packer, Nancy and leave a comment on each of their blog posts. That's all you have to do.

On Monday, each Cat Packer who played along in this TCP Tuesday Challenge will randomly draw a name from the comments left on their blog and give away one of the dies used in their card.

WHHEEE! It's that easy. Check in on this blog to see who is playing that day.

Inspired? How about FREE Dies?

Have you been inspired by our TCP Tuesday Inspiration Collage by Jen? This Hostess with the Mostess has always been one of my inspirations, so my fingers are itching to stamp.

Did you see how Leigh was inspired? She stamped Bear Hugs but covered up the heart with a pumpkin. Love that she used the small rosette in the Easy Rosette CutUps Die to make the pumpkin. I tell you, inspired

I was at a tradeshow last weekend where I got to demonstrate our Easy Rosette CutUps die up close and personal with some stamp and scrapbook store owners. And I realized that it was over a year ago we introduced our CutUps Die line. A YEAR ago.

Now, I can't think of a better reason to GIVE AWAY some CutUps Dies, do you?!

Just visit each of The Cat Pack's blogs and see how this TCP Tuesday Challenge inspired them, and leave a comment in that post. Then on Monday, they will randomly choose a winner! That winner will win a CutUps die that they featured in their card. Easy Peasy.

That's a CutUps die given away for every Cat Packer who plays.

So far we know how Jen was inspired! And Leigh! Who is next?

TCP Tuesday 176 & the Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Jen is the Hostess with the Mostess for this week's TCP Tuesday Inspiration Challenge.

And Jen is asking you to use this Inspiration collage as a jumping off point to create something. And by something, it could be a card, or a scrapbook page, a home decor item. Sky's the limit!

I love the colors in this collage. It really is all about what this time of year is, isn't it? Somewhere between Summer and Fall. That time of year when it can't decide to be hot, or chilly, so it gives you a little of both. Sometimes in the same day.

So take a peek at Jen's card, then get inky!

Did you get a chance to play in last week's Sketch challenge? The sketch was a challenging one!

It even challenged some of The Cat Pack. But that's what it was supposed to do. And the results? Awesome. Take a look at Julie's card. So bright and happy.

Then fly on over to Jackie's Blog. I love her paper selection, too!

Play along with us this TCP Tuesday! You could win 10 smackaroos in Cat's Cash and be eligible to win some of our new release stamps and dies. You just have to play along.

A Little Bit Sketchy

Have you gotten a little bit sketchy, yet?

That is, have you played along with our TCP Tuesday sketch challenge, yet? I've been clicked around the blogesphere, lately and have been seeing some pretty awesome cards using this here sketch.

Let me tell you, it looks harder than it is. And when you finish your card, you'll be mighty proud of yourself.

If you haven't checked out The Cat Pack's take on this sketch by Leigh, you really should.

One card that shouldn't be missed is Amy's. She really shows how you can use the sketch and take it to another level. I'm bats about her card.

And our newest Cat Packer, Nancy Thomas struts her stuff with card that shines bright.

Take a peek and then roll up your sleeves and stamp

Welcome Nancy

Every once in awhile I come across a designer whose creations are so clever and creative that I just want to bask whatever they do. And, it's a big plus when what they do uses my stamps and dies.

I think it was this card by Nancy Thomas that first caught my eye. Seemed every time I looked at it, I saw something else. I loved the pins that she used for antennae. So clever. So pretty.

Then I saw this one, and I fell in love. This card, which won Nancy the coveted title of Swanky Stamper, rocked my world. (She's won Swanky Stamper 3 Times, by the way) LOVE all the patterns, but I especially love that she cut different paper for the main heart and reassembled it. Wonderful colors and patterns that brought the Heart Trio CutUps and Bear Hugs to another level beyond Valentine's Day.

But, it was this card that really sealed the deal. Stunning. Truly playful and oh-so clever. Don't you just love those little birds peeking out from behind the birdhouses from our Home Tweet Home CutUps? And just the addition of a little piece of twine on the top of the Big Scallop? It's a wonderful way to finish off the birds on a wire concept. Really thoughtful.

So when a spot opened up on The Cat Pack, I had to ask Nancy to join us. And I'm so glad to say that she said "Yes."

Let's Fly Away

When I saw Leigh O'Brien's Sketch for TCP Tuesday, I knew I had to try it. I've never seen a Sketch like this before, so I knew it would be challenging.

And that is the reason behind TCP Tuesdays, to challenge yourself to use color combos you haven't used before. To use a technique or supply that you've only read about and to pull out your stamps and actually ink them up.

So here is my card for the sketch challenge. The bunny and sentiment are from our Take Off set and paper by Pink Paislee and Making Memories and Pebbles. I cut the Cloud Border CutUps down and folded the notched banner from the Easy Rosette CutUps die over for the flags.

And I don't know how it happened, but I actually used 6 different patterned papers in this card. I think they all work. Go figure. ;)

I tweaked the sketch a bit. (Yes, you can do that) And Carole did, too. In fact, she didn't use flags at all, but butterflies, and boy is her card cute. She uses Flutter By and our Mini Exotic Butterfly CutUps.

And if you are gearing up for Halloween, Jen created an AWESOME (yes, I'm singing) card using our MWAH! set.

So what are you waiting for? Go STAMP. You know you want to!

TCP Tuesday 175 & the Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Leigh is the Hostess with the Mostess for this week's TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

Leigh is asking you to use this sketch to create a masterpiece.

When I first took a look at this sketch, those little flags at the top were a little intimidating. But, then I saw Jenny's pretty little card, and Lori's card (the girl knows what I'm all about), and now I think that I'm going to have to have to take this sketch out for a drive.

Did you get a chance to play in last week's stamp challenge? The challenge was to use any Cat's Pajamas stamps with a wing in it.

There were some really awesome cards that showed up. Including this awesome card by Jenny!

Play along with us this TCP Tuesday! You could win 10 smackaroos in Cat's Cash and be eligible to win some of our new release stamps and dies. You just have to play along.

YAY!

If there is nothing I like more, it's a weekend! And even better...? A THREE day weekend. And I don't know about you, but I love to "draw" during the weekend. There are no phones ringing, no UPS men ringing my doorbell. Just huge blocks of time I can spend researching and putting new stuff together and figuring stuff out. Today, though, I'm moving The Cat's Pajamas site to a new server, which will allow us to do some pretty cool stuff. So if you see a "error" message when you try to get to our site, you know why.

So a THREE day weekend is GREAT! Because I actually get a day where I can relax.

My days seem to be living weekend to weekend, though, and it's funny how time can pass so quickly.

Like this picture of my niece, Robyn. It seems like just yesterday she looked like this (and her room was actually clean, so a picture had to be taken)

How many weekends ago was this? Just 2 weeks ago, I was waving goodbye to her as she left for college. How many weekends will it be until I see her again?

...... okay...moving on....

Are you stamping this weekend? Have you played in our last TCP Tuesday Challenge, yet? Remember, Susan was the Hostess with the Mostess and she was challenging you—nay, daring you to "Wing it". To use any TCP stamp with a wing in it.

The Cat Pack really had fun with this challenge. Check out Jen's pretty card. Methinks, someone is thinking about Christmas.

How many weekends until Christmas. Not enough.

Maintenance

The Cat's Pajamas website will be down while we move servers.

If you need to get in contact with us please leave a comment with your email address and I'll email you as soon as the site is up and running again.

In the meantime, have a great day!

Swanky Stamper of the Month

Wendy Bond — Swanky Stamper for September

I admit it, I'm kind of a game nerd. I love the bright colors and designs of gameboards, and pieces and cards.

Gameboards, especially, always made me feel like I was going on a trip. I could imagine myself riding the shoe, or in a tiny little car making my way through the board. And don't get me started on the playing pieces. I love the feel of a domino or chess piece or poker chip. Sheesh!

So when this pretty little card by Wendy Bond using Take Off and our Cloud Border, flashed across my screen, I gasped. Yes, gasped. Not only did she play around with different patterns and textures, but she brought to light my little, er....problem. Thanks, Wendy.

Wendy wins a selection of our stamps and dies from our next release and gets to play along with us.

Congrats, Wendy.

The best thing about choosing the Swanky Stamper for the month, is that I get a chance to revisit all the cards that were posted that month. And some of them, posted after the weekly challenge date, I haven't seen before. Here are a couple of cards that really made me smile.

Take this one by Christine Veneruso using Define Good. The gal knows the way to my heart. Lots of patterns and textures and PLAID! I love me some plaid.

Rachel Gaugler posted this delightful card using the Sketch from our TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge and Kick Some Grass. Love the scalloped panel she uses for "grass."

And this beauty by Nancy Thomas using The Tweetest Things and various CutUps Dies. I just keep staring and staring at it. So whimsical and perfect. Love that little bit of Divine Twine at the bottom. It just finishes it off.

And then, Kimberly Gajewski puts me in the Christmas spirit with this wonderful card using Deep Breath. I can almost feel the chill in the air. LOVES the rhinestone swirly thingy. Really makes me think of skating figures in the ice. Well, not me, but maybe someone like Michele Kwan.

I'm so glad that all these gals played along with us! They are all winners. But the real winner is me. I get to see all the yummy cards using our stamps and dies.

Project of the Month

With all the wonderful handmade barrettes out there, you need an equally wonderfully handmade place to store them.

Jenny Peterson creates this oh-so-cute Flower Garden Barrette Holder. Even if you don't have little girls, this would be the perfect place to slip in notes or pictures.

The flowers are adorable on their own. I can see them decorating a pretty card. Just on their own.

Take a peek, and download the FREE project sheet. It's our Project of the Month.
