Sneaky Peek #3

Day #3
Wheel Love & Flutter By

It's the third day of Sneaky Peek Week and we are Sneaky Peeking two sets today. And if you've seen the paper pleating tutorial by Amy Rohl, you are already familiar with this one called "Wheel Love" I know that Amy's card was terrific, but just look what else you can do with it.

Lori Tecler made this adorable card that actually has the bicycle moving across the page. Based on a Spinner card, the bike has a penny behind each wheel so that it travels up and down the path. She used the New Cloud Border CutUps and the Sunflower Rosette, except she kept the Sunflower flat and and added a button to make a groovy looking sun.

Awesome, no? Check out her blog for more information on how she did it. She's amazing.

How about this great card from Jenny? Love this vintage look! And see those fantastic butterflies? When we saw the company that makes our dies come out with these, we had to have them. Sort of like a doily butterfly. So pretty.

I'm in love with this card by Susan Liles. She really shows off "Flutter By" to perfection. And the butterfly? That's one of three pack! You want something larger, we just might have something for you.

See what I mean? This Lacey Butterfly CutUps die was the inspiration for this "Flutter By" set. And Julie Masse really creates a mood with both of them. I love how she stamped the sentiment on acetate and layered it over the butterfly.

Want to see more? Then check out Jen, Amy and Nancy, Julie and Linda. They've worked their magic again.

Sneaky Peek #2

Day #2
Bearing Flowers

It's the second day of Sneaky Peek Week and I've got one of my favorite bears, PJ. For those of you not familiar with PJ the Bear, not only is he fabulous to color, but to paper piece, too! He's so cute carrying that big 'ole sunflower! He looks like he can hardly carry that big flower!

Now check out this sweet project by Amy Rohl. A Sunflower Tote.

It's just darling! And she uses one of our NEW CutUps Dies, the Sunflower Rosette. You liked the Easy Rosette from our last release so much, we decided to bring it back as a sunflower with and embossed center.

But where is PJ, you ask?

He was tucked inside the tote, but now he's here. Adorning a Gift Card holder. Just adorable.

This card by Lori Tecler is so bright and happy, I can't stand it. She really shows how versatile the Sunflower Rosette is by using 2 of them flat (and not rosetted). So cute.

And the type bent around the circle? This is one of the best things about clear stamps.

Is it any wonder that Leigh O'Brien works this set to perfection? After all, she is the Sunflower GODDESS! She paired "Bearing Flowers" with the Sunflower Rosette, too. Only this time she cut two of the leaf that comes in the die and placed a wire in the center to give them some movement. Want to see more of this set? Jenny, Carole, Jen, Jackie and Swanky Stampers, Julie and Nancy are pulling out all the stops. Just wait 'til you see!

Sneak Peek #1

Day #1
Take Off

It's the first day of Sneaky Peek Week and we've got so much to share with you! Are you excited? We are!

Our first stamp set is called "Take Off" and features one of our favorite bunnies by Zlatoena Designs. Do you like to color or paper piece? Well this stamp set is for you.

I couldn't resist inking up this set, myself. And those little puffs were just begging for my favorite embellie, Liquid Applique.

TakeOff

Jenny Peterson rocks it with this darling set. And see the clouds? That's one of our new borders. You can use it in one piece, or you can snip apart the clouds. So versatile. I just LOVES it.

Amy Rohl is no slouch with this same stamp set. But she gives us a completely different look. I love her monotone coloring of this image and cracked glass technique. So vintage.

Now jet on over to Leigh's, Julie's, Jen's (later on today), Jackie's and Swanky Stampers, Julie's and Linda's blogs. (I told you it was a fun set.) Did you enter to win this set? Just leave a comment on the "In It To Win It" thread in our Splitcoaststamper's Forum and you could win the stamp set Sneaky Peeked today!

Then check out the Sneaky Peeks in our forum each day to see if you've won.

Consider the Letter

I've heard stories about how after Steve Jobs took a basic typography class, it changed the way that he looked at things.

Take a closer look at how a letter is constructed, how a dot sits on an "i", how the shape of a letter affects the form or a word, and you can appreciate how beautiful a letter really is. How well designed it is.

It's obvious to me, that this type class really helped Steve Jobs, and by extension, Apple, create computers, and phones, and other devices that were really well designed. And in some cases really beautiful. Remember the first iMacs? All in one, colorful, easy to use computers. They were everywhere. You would turn on the news and a reporter would have one sitting behind them.

And it all started with a simple type class.

Not only should type communicate, but it should hold your interest and, if successful cause an emotional reaction. Type, with the help of fonts, should feel like what it's saying.

I thought about type a lot, when putting together the new release for June 28th. Played around with mixing typefaces, how they work together. And how they would work with the images. Who would, when looking at a line or two of type, think there would be so much to think about? I may be a little nuts about type, but I think you are worth it.

In It To Win It

Did you have a chance to check out the Splitcoaststampers Wednesday Tutorial? Our very own Amy Rohl created an awesome tutorial using one of the stamps from our next release on June 28.

We've had so many of you ask about it, that we've decided to give it away! Along with ALL the other stamp sets in the release. Like the one we are showing above.

Want to win something?! All you have to do is comment on this thread. It can be about anything. The tutorial, techniques you like to use, some you'd like to see, the weather. Anything you want.

Then each day during our Sneaky Peek Week, starting on Tuesday June 21, we'll randomly choose a winner from the comments on this thread. The winner will win the set that we are Sneaky Peeking that day.

And all you have to do to win is comment! The more comments the better. Easy Peasy.

Ready? Set? Go!

I Wheelie, Wheelie Love This

If you checked your emails this morning, you may have seen super cute card by Cat Packer, Amy Rohl.

And, if you are like me you want to be Amy. Or at least stamp like her. This week we are in luck. Amy is sharing how to do the paper pleating on this card. AWESOME!

AND there's a video, too! Those are Leigh O'Brien's tanned and toned arms in that video.

And the rabbit on the bicycle? And the cloud die? You can get those at our SUMMER RELEASE! Coming June 28!

TCP Tuesday 165 & the Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Tori is the Hostess with the Mostess for this week's challenge. Tori is crazy about color, but you can probably tell this from her color choice. Cotton Candy, Lipstick Red and Aqua. I love this color combo and think it's great for a non-traditional Christmas Card or project. Uh-Oh. Did I say the "C" word in June? Sorry. Must be our stormy weather out here in California that's making me think that.

Anyway, click on over to Tori's blog and you'll see what I mean about color. That is one darling card! And check out the cheeks of that bear. Just WOW!

Then head onto Leigh's blog. I love that she uses a heart from our Heart Trio CutUps as the center to her pinwheel.

Jen's playing along, too! Her scrappy look is really terrific. Did I ever mention that I want to be like Jen when I grow up?

Jenny doesn't usually do CAS cards, but after you see her card, I'm sure you'll agree, that she works it! She's amazing.

Don't you want to play along? You could win 10 smackaroos in Cat's Cash and be eligible to win some of our new release stamps and dies. You just have to play along.

Well?

Well how are you doing on this week's challenge? Are you up for more inspiration?

Well I'm ready to give it to you.

Jenny is back in the saddle and showing off a little TCP goodness with this sweet little card. And she make a delightful little brooch to go with. Check it out.

Then head on over to Susan's for her take on this fabric challenge. It's amazing how a little bit of fabric can totally change the look of a card.

Then Jen shows off another way to incorporate fabric into her card. Such a pretty and original look. I'd also like to say that I love how clear and crsip her stamping is. It just goes to show that the more you use your clear stamps the better they stamp.

Jackie stamps up a storm (hey, it's overcast where I live) with her purrectly terrific card. Yes, Jackie had me at "Meow". Be sure to check out that fabric swatch behind Sprinkle. Lovvvves!

Believe in yourself

How are you all doing with the TCP Tuesday Supply/Technique Challenge?

This week's challenge is to use Fabric in your card or project. Having a hard time? You are not alone, some of The Cat Pack are too. But, it's that the point of a Challenge? Challenging yourself and pushing yourself creatively?

Leigh did, and check out her stunning card. She pushed through and created an amazing card.

C'mon. You can do it. So, on that note, I leave you with this... Just replace "riding your bike" with "doing this challenge".

TCP Tuesday and Weekly Winner

It's TCP Tuesday and Julie is the Hostess with theMostess for this challenge.

Julie's in charge of the Technique/Supply Challenge and this week she's challenging you to use fabric in your card or project.

I don't know if you realize that our CutUps Dies can go through fabric, but they do. The more natural the fibers, the better.

Check out Julie's clever card using denim! SOOOO cute! She didn't do too much stamping, but she didn't have too.

Lori used denim, too! This time, she stamped on it. Woo! Hoo! Such a fun look. Wait 'til you've seen what she's come up with.

Amy
used our Pinwheels CutUps! I'm not going to tell you what she did, only that she amazes me every time she stamps.

Don't you want to play along? Then pull out your fabric stash. You could win 10 smackaroos in Cat's Cash and be eligible to win some of our new release stamps and dies. You just have to play along.

Waking Up

This week has just flown by! I feel like I've been in kind of a stupor. Hopefully, I'll be pulling out of it soon. Just in time for the weekend, of course. But, I just wanted to share more cards by The Cat Pack inspired by our TCP Tuesday Inspiration photo.

These ladies both posted these lovelies on Wednesday....but you know, stupor. Sorry ladies.

Carole
is in her element with this cheery card. Lots of color and happiness bursting forth. It's so fun! Check out her post. She's got an offer I think you can't refuse.

And Julie posts up one of her terrific CAS cards. Very FRESH! And perfect for that little boy or girl.

By the way, if you don't know, Julie will be teaching at another of her Fantabulous EVENTS, Stamping Around OHIO! So if you are close to Ohio June 17 & 18, you should check out this event. It's a MUST GO TO! (All caps)
